Biography

Benjamin Affleck was born on August 15, 1972 in Berkeley, California. His parents Tim and Chris were working class professionals who were religious. Though his parents were religious, Ben was not raised to follow any particular religion. He grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts with his good friend Matt Damon who also is a famous actor. Ben got started early in acting and as a child had a reoccuring role in the PBS kids' series The Voyage of the Mimi. He also did work for several made-for-television movies. His career as an actor started picking steam in the 1990s where he had a lot of work in notable films such as Dazed and Confused, Mallrats and Chasing Amy

Affleck achieved super stardom along with buddy Matt Damon with their work in Good Will Hunting (1997), in which he helped write the screenplay. That movie went on to win an Oscar that year for Best Original Screenplay. Following Good Will Hunting, Ben had many roles in successful films such as Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, Changing Lanes, The Sum of All Fears and Daredevil.

Ben has had several romances with some of Hollywood's hottest leading ladies. He dated Gwyneth Paltrow in 1998 shortly after here breakup with Brad Pitt. Affleck started dating actress/singer Jennifer Lopez after meeting her on the set of Gigli in 2002. That relationship was serious and led to an engagement and wedding plans. The was wild publicity around "Bennifer" as the two were known but the eventually called of the wedding and broke up in 2004. Shortly after his breakup with Jennifer lopez, Ben Affleck dated his Daredevil co-star, actress Jennifer Garner. This time around Ben got married and had a daughter, Violet in 2005.

Affleck is also a polically active Democratic and has in the past lent his support to the Campaigns of Bill Clinton, Al Gore and Hillary Clinton. He is also a vocal support of Gay and Lesbian rights and has expressed his own interest in pursuing a careers in politics eventually to represent "everyday people."
