Biography

Angelina Jolie was born on June 4, 1975 ) in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of Jon Voight an accomplished American actor. Angelina has enjoyed much success throughout her career often starring in high grossing movies and winning numerous awards including a Golden Globe and an Oscar.

Angelina became involved in acting early on at the age 11 when she attend theatre School. She had parts in numerous movies early on and also did some modeling. Jolie attended the New York University School of Film but did not complete her studies.

Her first break out role came in the 1995 sci-fi film hackers. It was on the set of Hackers that Angelina met Johnny Lee Miller, her first husband. From there on her career stumbled as she starred in movies which bombed commercially. She made a quick recovery though with here work in 1999, a breakout year for her where she made Bone Collector with Denzel Washington and won an Oscar for Girl, Interrupted. There after she followed up with commercial successes in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. She went on to make several other big budget films such as Alexander and came out with another hit doing Mr. and Mrs. Smith. It was on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith that Angelina met her current love interest, Brad Pitt.

Jolie's personal life has marked by a strained relationship with father Jon Voight - Angelina legally dropped Voight as her last name. She also had a high profile married to Billy Bob Thorton which ended in divorce as she accused him of cheating on her. Her marriage with Thorton got much media attention after they both started going out in public wearing viles of each others blood. Angelina Jolie is openly bisexual, admitting to having a relationship with model Jenny Shimizu, whom whe met on the set of FireFox. She is currently involved in a relationship with Brad Pitt. There was speculation that she was having an affair with him while on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith but these are allegations she denies. She has stated that she was traumatized as a young girl to learn her father cheated on her mother and would not ever engage in an affair with a married man. Angelina's relationship with brad is intense. Brad Pitt adopted her children soon after they got together and they are currently expecting a child together.

Angelina is well know for her humanitarian work, lending her star-power for causes such as AIDs awareness and cancer. She has traveled to Africa to help fight the spread of AIDs and end poverty in that continent. She was also made a UN good will ambassador and is frequently globe trotting to promote her humanitarian causes.
