Biography
Charlize Theron was born on August 7, 1975 and is from Benoni, South Africa. Charlize faced tragedy early on as a child when she witnessed the death of her father as her mother shot him in self-defense. Her father was an abusive alcoholic and the shooting was ruled and act of self defense. She started her career in ballet and modeling. While studying and ballet proffessionally in New York, Theron injured her knee, ending hopes for a profession career in ballet. She was 18 at the time and determined to become a star decide to pack her bags and go to Hollywood rather than return to life in South Africa.
She started out her career in the B-Film Children of the Corn III and was at one point offered the lead role in another B-Movie Showgirls, a notorious film for its myriad nude scenes. Luckily for Charlizes career, Elizabeth Berkeley got the role instead. Since her humble beginnings Charlize has moved on to win an oscar and star in many big budget hits or oscar nominated films. She has won many awards and is considered one of hollywoods sexiest A-List women.
Theron is currently dating long time boyfriend Stuart Townsend.
